Bruce Bochy’s Foghorn Salute
San Francisco Giants | Live Event + Experiential
When we heard that longtime manager Bruce Bochy was retiring at the end of the season, we knew we'd need to come up with a uniquely San Francisco type of send off. Like the fog in July, it hit us... nothing is more synonymous with the Giants and their fans across the Bay than the sound of a foghorn. So we coordinated one final foghorn blast to pay homage to our beloved hometown manager.
In the process, we turned our agency office into a foghorn factory. 35 cans of spray paint, 160 lbs of crinkle paper, 143 foghorn buttons, 10,000 coasters with instructions, and a digital foghorn app later, we packed together kits to send off to Giants bars around the city. Then we rallied together boat owners all around the San Francisco Bay to come out and sound off their horns for a Bruce Bochy foghorn salute. The result was one teary legend and a mass of adoring fans who were able to say farewell just a little louder.
